Lord Howe Island - a World Heritage Listed Gem
Lord Howe Island group is an outstanding example of oceanic islands of volcanic origin containing a unique biota of plants and animals, as well as the world's most southerly true coral reef. The Islands are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage property, in recognition of the global significance of the island’s beauty and biodiversity.
Dates of the pre- and post-conference tours are:
Pre-conference - Sunday 4 September - Saturday 10 September 2022
Post-conference - Saturday 17 September - Friday 23 September 2022
Numbers are limited to 20 each for the pre- and post-conference tours as this is the maximum number of passengers on each flight. The tours start and finish at Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport.
The tours include return airfares, Island transfers, six nights accommodation at Somerset apartments (standard or superior room), four guided half-day walks led by the widely acclaimed naturalist, Ian Hutton, and two evening lectures by Ian on the history and the plants of the Island.
Meals are not included, however the apartments have small kitchenettes and there is a small supermarket on the island and a number of restaurants.

Ian Hutton will lead two guided walks on each of the four days with a maximum of 10 in each walk, which will allow you to enjoy the other half of the day to enjoy the island at your leisure.

Cost of the tours
Final cost is still to be determined as Qantas will not advise its airfare prices until September 2021.
The cost for the post-tour will be slightly higher due to peak season. Once the cost of the tour has been confirmed you will be required to lodge a non-refundable deposit of $255 per person to secure your booking no later than the following deposit deadlines.

Deposits are transferrable to other participants that can take your place should your circumstances change and you are unable to travel.
Travel insurance is strongly recommended (please ensure to check all terms and conditions of the relevant travel insurance providers so you are aware of what you are covered for – especially relating to COVID related cancellations).
Note: Weather conditions may prevent departure from the Island which will incur added accommodation expenses.
