Plant database - Ground covers
Ground covers are generally under 1 metre and can be prostrate, dwarf or herbaceous plants. They provide the lower level of the garden, and fill in between the shrubs and trees
Ground covers have many benefits:
- Become a living mulch to protect against water loss and preventing weeds
- Creating habitat for critters
- Creating contrasting textures, colours and forms in the garden
- Providing attractive flowers and foliage
