Central West Group is now in recess....Who are we?The Central West Group is a group of people with an interest in Australian plants. Members come from all walks of life and with differing levels of knowledge and interests in Australian plants, but all share an enthusiasm for our wonderful flora. Currently the Central West Group has members from near Dubbo to the north west, Lithgow to the east and Cootamundra to the south, with the majority of members from or nearby the Central Tableland cities of Bathurst and Orange. Central West Group activities include garden visits, bush walks, propagation workshops and talks. Members receive communications informing of planned activities, as well as the quarterly journals Australian Plants (national) and Native Plants for New South Wales. The first meeting of the Central West Group of the Society for Growing Australian Plants (SGAP) was held 28 October 1995. Our logo is the graceful shrub, Australian Indigo Indigofera australis, chosen for its beauty, reliability as a garden shrub and its natural occurrence in woodlands throughout the Central West.
