Description

Viola hederaceae (ground cover) Common name: Native violet Family: Violaceae Location: Subtropical, warm temperate, cool temperate. Flower colour: Purple and white combination Flowers: All year Soil: Clay, Loamy, Sandy loam, Clay loam, Potting mix Drainage: Moderate Exposure: Light shade, Half shade, Heavy shade Cover: Height 100 – 200mm x Width 300mm -1m. Water: Prefers moisture. Dies back in drought but resprouts from underground runners with rainfall. Uses: Pretty ground cover and lawn substitute for shady areas. Edible flowers.
