There is a plant display table at each meeting where members and visitors are encouraged to bring along a cutting of a flowering plant that grows in their home garden. NEXT MEETING: Saturday 9 NOVEMBER 2024ABOUT -Within the Australian Native Plants Society (Australia) are specialist study groups. These groups allow members who are interested in a particular aspect of Australian plants, to study, develop and contribute to a body of knowledge about Australian flora. Shirley is the leader of the Australian Pea Flower Study Group, with around 140 members. The group, revived by her at the Biennial conference held in 2019 at Albany WA, is interested in identification, cultivation, propagation and conservation of Australia’s pea flowers with field trips, pea flower forages and newsletters to keep members informed and connected. Shirley’s presentation will cover how to recognise pea flowers with tips on how to spot the different genera of those yellow and red flowers which we group together as ‘egg and bacon' pea flowers. She will provide clues to help us identify a handful of genera in the field by showing characteristics for us to look out for. Map of normal meeting placeDillwynia retorta at Daley's Point |
