Rob Champion, a landscape designer and ecologist from New Zealand, shares New Zealand flora. The country is known for its wet Gondwanan rainforests of ferns and mosses, and for the flax and cabbage tree. It also has abundant shrubs with a zig-zagging maze of flexible, spineless stems and miniaturised leaves.
