Discover how native Australian plants can be shaped into beautiful bonsai forms using the AusZen technique — a style that blends traditional Japanese garden principles with a uniquely Australian perspective.
Olga, a long-time APS member, brings a wealth of expertise as a wholesale nursery owner, native plant propagator, horticulturist, strategic planner, and landscape gardener. She will introduce us to AusZen pruning, a practice that reflects the character of the Australian landscape through the artistry of native bonsai.
Key species discussed will include: Pherosphaera fitzgeraldii (Microstrobos fitzgeraldii), Casuarina glauca ‘Greenwave’, Homoranthus decumbens, Darwinia taxifolia, and Podocarpus lawrencei.
