Southern Tablelands - Annual Forum & Talk by Stuart Read and Brian Faulkner.

  • Goulburn Worker’s Club

Southern Tablelands Australian Plants Society invite you to our annual, FREE,
Forum in July, on Saturday 5th July at the Goulburn Worker’s Club, 9.30 for a prompt
10 am start.

Two very interesting people will talk about their area of expertise relating to Australian Plants. A light morning tea will be available between the two speakers.

One of the speakers is Stuart Read, a landscape architect, horticulturalist and Sydney Chair of the Australian Garden History Society, who examines garden design through time using native plants in both public and private situations. Explaining how we are still discovering “new” species and getting more curious about Aboriginal names and their uses for plants. He trained in New Zealand and works for Heritage NSW on nominations to, and listings on, the NSW State Heritage Register.

Our other speaker is the Environment and Biodiversity Officer for Goulburn Mulwaree Council, who will talk on threatened species in our local area. Brian Faulkner has knowledge on conservation and land management in our local government area and is the Native Vegetation Officer. His talks are very interesting and shocking at times.

This is a Free event, but Kaye Norman, Secretary of Southern Tablelands APS, would like prior notification if you intend being part of this.
